Ranging from the well-established to the new and noteworthy - Norway offers a wide selection of designers at London Fashion Week 14. - 18. February.

Designer Showroom at Somerset House
LFW Designer Showrooms showcase an edit of contemporary and luxury designers providing a platform for the designers to engage with buyers and press. The Showrooms are divided between two floors at Somerset House and include the two Norwegian labels Cathrine Hammel and Haaning & Htoon.

Recognized for her strong feminine signature and distinct color palette, Cathrine Hammel will be showcasing a collection offering “every woman’s basic needs for contemporary knitwear in the winter season”. Hammel remains one of the most renowned Norwegian fashion labels to date. Her aesthetic DNA has a direct connection to the Bauhaus philosophy on one hand, and the crafted arts on the other - a unique heritage stemming from her grandparents, Tony and Gerd, respectively a Bauhaus architect and a visual artist.

There will be some edgy tailoring at display from designer duo Haaning & Htoon, formed by Norwegian Marianne Haaning Gross and British Min Htoon. The duo uses their differences in culture, heritage and female and masculine perspectives creating a sophisticated, confident and strong look. Their key item this season is the cape.

International Fashion Showcase
British Council and British Fashion Council celebrates emerging talent with their International Fashion Showcase, seeing more than 30 embassies and cultural institutions across London create fashion exhibitions which display their emerging fashion designers. Norway teams up with Sweden and Denmark presenting the Scandinavian exhibition Re Design: Emerging Scandinavia. Each country exhibits the work of four fashion designer graduates. Norwegian designers include Connie Riiser Berge (Esmod), Sn. Dj. (Oslo National Academy of the Arts), Mari Heiret and Siri Birkeland (both Oslo & Akershus University College).

The Re Design: Emerging Scandinavia exhibition is designed by London based studio Hato and is housed at the beautiful Lincoln’s inn Fields. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of talks moderated by Dennis Nothdruft, curator of the Fashion and Textile Museum in London, and a café serving cinnamon buns and coffee.
