Norwegian Polar Bear in Regents Park

 Date:29/05/2008 - 05/09/2008

Under the watchful eye of curator Anthony Wilson a team of inspired and resourceful sculptors have been gathering and transforming rubbish to make beautiful and poignant artworks. The Love London Recycled Sculpture Show, which is on from 29 May - 5 September, aims to connect with people of all ages, drawing attention to the impact humans have on the animal world. Norwegian sculptress Tone Holmen's near life size Polar Bear is part of the exhibition.

18/06/2008 :: Tone Holmen, from Tromsø, Norway, is exhibiting her Polar Bear and cub made of waste plastic bags. The show, hosted by London Zoo, also features a 10 foot high T-Rex made from old tyres and a life size Great White shark made from hub caps.

The Love London festival is a key part of London's bid to become a sustainable capital in time for the 2012 Olympics and aims to help the city's businesses, communities and individuals to make a difference. Love London is attracting a lot of attention, building the capital's reputation globally and has inspired interest and events as far afield as Amsterdam and Sydney.

The sculpture show is a highlight event in the Love London, Love Your Planet festival which will
green-up the capital with hundreds of eco-events across its three week span in June.
