Position Available in the Consular Section

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in London has a position as a locally hired employee in the Consular Section available for immediate hiring. The candidate will also be responsible for the Embassy's IT Service Desk.

The newly created position is part of the Consular Team that assists Norwegians abroad and process immigration applications. Additionally, it involves the responsibility for the Embassy’s IT service desk. 

Currently, the Consular Section consists of four locally hired employees and is led by the Consul, who is positioned in London by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Of the 37 people currently working at the Embassy, one-third are diplomats and two-thirds are locally hired.

Responsibilities: 
Consular Services
Passport Applications
Processing Visa- and other Immigration Applications
Residence- and Work-permits
Maritime Affairs
Assistance to Norwegians in the UK
Manage the IT Service Desk at the Embassy
Other responsibilities may be added to the position

Formal qualifications:
The applicant must speak and write Norwegian and English fluently
Have a very good knowledge of IT- related matters.
The applicant should have higher education. Relevant work experience can compensate for lack of relevant formal education.

Service-minded and cooperative
Good communicative skills
The ability to work independently and under pressure
A sense of order, accuracy and punctuality
