On November 28th the Royal Norwegian Embassy will organize – for the third time in as many years – a major seminar at the Royal Geographical Society.
This year’s seminar is entitled “The Thawing Arctic: Climate Change, Resources and Security” and will be devoted to developments in the Arctic, with special emphasis on climate change, resources and Northern sea-routes.
The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Børge Brende will be the key-note speaker at the seminar, discussing Norwegian views on the developments in the Arctic region with a focus on both opportunities and responsibilities. Other prominent speakers include Sir David King (FCO), Dr Robin Niblett (Chatham House), Ms Jane Francis (British Antarctic Survey), Mr Jan-Gunnar Winther (Norwegian Polar Institute), Mr Sturla Henriksen (Norwegian Shipowners’ Association), Mr Tim Dodson (Statoil) and Mr Dev Sanyal (British Petroleum).
