Following the success of 'Hedda Gabler' in Leeds, the play transfers to Liverpool on 23 March bringing Ibsen's twisted heroine to yet more theatregoers in the UK.
01/03/2006 :: The plot evolves around a dangerously bored Hedda who returns from her honeymoon to find no outlet for her passion for life, in a house she no longer wants and with a husband she can barely stand. Her only diversions are her father's pistols and her deadly talent for manipulating the lives of her friends and acquaintances.
Ibsens's twisted heroine has fascinated theatregoers for generations and is considered one of the truly great roles for an actress. This adaptation by Tony Award nominee Mike Poulton captures all the danger of Ibsen's compelling masterpiece in an accessible and fresh new version.
