New Airlink Opened

The SAS group links the heartland of Scottish culture with the picturesque fjords of Norway.

The SAS Group airline, Widerøe, the largest regional airline in the Nordic countries will commence new direct flights from Edinburgh to Bergen from 27 March 2006.

This new service will provide business and leisure travellers with an ideal gateway to Norway, allowing passengers to experience the famous Norwegian fjords and ski slopes with low one-way fares, while allowing easy onward connections via the SAS Group’s network across Scandinavia and around the world.

The new service provides efficient business links to the oil and gas industry of Bergen and the surrounding area as well as opening up the picturesque fjords to holiday makers.

Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and offers visitors a unique combination of nature, culture and city life. The 900 year old city was named European City of Culture in 2000.

Business and leisure travellers from Norway can enjoy excellent connections to Edinburgh on this brand new service.

Edinburgh is a city rich in cultural heritage and historical architecture, both of which attest to the rich past of Scotland’s capital city. Overlooked by Edinburgh Castle the city’s architecture shifts from lofty tenements to the narrow closes of medieval Old Town and down to the contrasting geometric precision of the Georgian New Town.
