The Norwegian Consul, Grethe Knudsen, opened the annual Viking Festival in Largs on Saturday 28th August.
The Norwegian flags were flying in Largs when the Norwegian Consul, Grethe Knudsen, opened the annual Viking Festival in Largs on Saturday.
The Consul also took part in the parade alongside Provost Drew Duncan and Councillors Elisabethe Marshall and Robert Rae from North Ayrshire Council. The parade also featured a pipe band, motor cycles, cheerleaders, fire engines, vikings, horses and much more.
After the parade and the official opening, the Consul made a visit to the Viking Village and talked to the many vikings from around Europe.
Following a fantastic performance by the 'Flying Circus', the Consul took part in a Civic Reception hosted by the Provost and Councillors of North Ayrshire Council.
The Viking Festival takes place in Largs 28th August - 5th September and has a number of highlights during this period.
