Norwegian Christmas at the National Maritime Museum

On Saturday December 6 the National Maritime Museum will be running a special Norwegian Christmas Day in partnership with The Norwegian Church and Seamen’s Mission.

02/12/2003 ::  

The day will include a mix of special National Maritime Museum public programmes and traditional Norwegian events led by the Norwegian community.

The Museum shop will be selling Norwegian products and the Regatta café will offering a special Norwegian hot food menu with a choice of Bacalao-Salt Fish Stew, Seaman's beef casserole with dumplings and Winter Caramel Pudding.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase traditional Norwegian waffles from the upper court café.

11.00–16.00: Drop-in family workshop – Superships in the Submarine
11.00–11.40: Drop-in talk on polar exploration and Amundsen – South: The Race to the Pole in the Oceans of Discovery Gallery
12.00: Opening messages and introduction by Norwegian Church on Upper Court
12.30: Piano playing on Upper Court by Paul Gobey
13.00: Performance on Upper Court by the Norwegian School in Wimbledon
13.30: Piano playing and accompanying violin on Upper Court by Paul Gobey and Hilde Berg Chapman
14.00: Piano playing on Upper Court by Paul Gobey
14.30: Soprano performance on Upper Court by Kristine Marøy
14.45: Sing along with Norwegian and English carols on the Upper Court
