 Location:Scotland, Edinburgh

Norwegian artist Fride Klykken will exhibit some of her works at the Edinburgh Art Festival this summer. Klykken, born in Aalesund, uses elements from her family memory to create her art. The exhibition will also feature Japanese artist Hideko Inoue.

Norwegian artist Fride Klykken is exhibiting together with Glasgow based artist Hideko Inoue in Atticsalt from 26th of July to 1st of September 2007.

The exhibition explores the patterns that define and chart family ties through generations. Artists Hideko Inoue (Japan) and Fride Klykken (Norway) have collaborated through researching memories of grandparents. Inoue has translated old photographic information into colour paintings and in response, Klykken has produced a series of video and photographic works using elements from her family memory as both symbols and tools in the construction of the work.
