The Vikings never cease to be popular! Every year, the Vikings are brought back to life in the town of Largs in Ayrshire.
For more than 200 years, the Vikings were feared as fierce and ruthless pirates, but this is not the full story. The Vikings were also poets, lawmakers and artists. Their ships explored unknown seas and they settled new lands.
At home, they lived in a well-ordered society based on laws. When the men were out on their journeys, the women were responsible for the farm.
Re-live some of the magic at the Largs Viking Festival 31st - 10th September.
