This exhibition looks at composer Edvard Grieg's life and music, and the relationship between his art and Norwegian national identity. Grieg's music remains as fresh as when it was written, as do his words and thoughts recorded in his diaries, articles, speeches and letters.
Location: City Art Centre, Market Street
Date: 22nd January - 16th April
Time: Monday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm
Supported by the Grieg Museum, Hordaland County Council, the City of Bergen, the Friends of Troldhaugen, Edinburgh City Council and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General.
During the run of the exhibition, writer and broadcaster journalist Jack Webster goes in search of Grieg's Scottish identity. His findings will be shared at two lunchtime lectures at the City Art Centre:
Grieg or Greig? The Composer's Scottish Connections
