 Type:Culture, Music
 Location:Scotland, Glasgow

ENVISION is a carefully considered series of explorations and discoveries that synthesize the many musical traditions, cultures, and experiences that make up today’s contemporary jazz and experimental music scene. A multi disciplinary terrain, the discerning listener will embark on a voyage through a series of meditations on sensory impressions and vibrational dynamics.

ARVE HENRIKSEN / EIVIND AARSET
Trumpeter Arve Henriksen is a member of the renowned band Supersilent. He has worked with many musicians familiar to ECM listeners (Jon Balke, Marilyn Crispell, Trygve Seim).  Introduced to the Japanese bamboo flute shakuhachi Nils Petter Molvaer, his recent music is heavily influenced by Japanese culture, the spatial, contemplative quality of Zen Buddhism and minimalist expression.

For his debut in Scotland he is joined by guitarist Eivind Aarset, one of the most exciting individual and creative voices from the Norwegian jazz underground. His debut release ‘Electronique Noir’ was hailed as ‘one of the best post Miles electric jazz albums’ (The New York Times).
