Strong Norwegian communities around Scotland celebrate the 17th May, the Norwegian Constitution Day, in style!

Aberdeen

The celebrations will be held at Kippie Lodge, Milltimber from 1.00 pm. The parade will be at 1.45 pm. followed by the childrens dinner and entertainment. Lunch buffet at 3.00 pm with hot and cold food. After the buffet there will be games for the children, speeches, coffee and cakes and a raffle. Festivities end at 7.00pm.

Tickets are £20 for adults, £10 for students. Children accompanied by adult and having the childrens menu are free.

Edinburgh

The festivities start as the students climb Arthur’s Seat in order to plant the Norwegian Flag at the summit. All welcome to join in. Assembly at Dunsapie Loch at 07.00 a.m.

The students will host their traditional breakfast at Prestonfield House Hotel at 09.45 a.m.
Tickets £18 (£8 for children under 10 years of age).

The parade starts from the Scot Monument on Princes Street at 1.00 p.m. There will be speeches and a short service in Princes Street Gardens. Games and fun for the children (of any ages!)

The 17th May Dinner will be held at the Mansion House (Members' Rooms) at Edinburgh Zoo, Corstorphine at 7.00 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost £24 and are allocated on a firts come first served basis.

Evening Party at Bar 38, George Street from 7.00 p.m. to 3.00 a.m. £6 entrance fee.

A Norwegian Style Menu will be served in the Chisholms Restaurant at the Caledonian Hilton Hotel in Edinburgh from 15th - 21st May to celebrate the Norwegian Constitution day.
A three course meal with a choise of 5 straters, 5 main courses and 5 desserts will cost £19.95. Children under 6 years are free, and 6 - 12 years get 50% off. The restaurant is open from 6.00 pm. Bookings are advisable, please contact tel. 0131 222 8900.

Glasgow

Reception at City Council at 11.30. Speeches, finger food buffet and drinks.

Parade leaves Strathclyde Union/Martha street at 13.00. Please arrive early. The national anthem will be sung in Kelvingrove Park on arrival 14.00-14.30, followed by games and fun for everyone.

Dinner at Ramada Jarvis, 201 Ingram Street, at 19.00. DJ until 02.00 am. Tickets £22 for ANSA members/ £29 for non-members. Tickets on sale 23rd April and 26th April 12.00 – 2.00 p.m. at Lord Todd’s Bar, Strathclyde campus.
