The Norwegian students association in Edinburgh (NORSA) will be holding the traditional breakfast at Prestonfield House Hotel from 09.45 am on the 17th of May. Prior to the breakfast, the students will climb Arthur’s Seat in order to plant the Norwegian flag at the peak. The assembly point is Dunsapie Loch at 7.00 am, and guests are welcome to take part in this.

Before the breakfast at Prestonfield House Hotel, there will be a short ceremony. The Norwegian flag will be hoisted, the national anthem will be sung and the traditional speeches will be held. About 250 people attend annually, and NORSA aims to make this breakfast a very special occasion, as it has been in previous years.

At 12 noon, coaches will take all attendants to the Mound. From there the parade will depart at 1.00 p.m. The parade will end in West Princes Street Gardens, where there will be held a short ceremony by the Norwegian Consul General and the Student Chaplain. Afterwards there will be arranged games for children of all ages. Please feel free to bring along any guests.

The student's will celebrate The National day throughout the evening at the following venues:
9pm The Outhouse (Broughton Street Lane)
1am Lulu (George Street)

In addition, The Norwegian-Scottish Association invites you to a National Day Dinner at Stewart’s Melville Sports Club, Ferry Road, Edinburgh EH5 2DW, at 7:00 for 7:30pm on Thursday 17th May. 

The cost of the dinner, with a drink on arrival, is £28.00 and places will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.  The price does not include wine at the table.  Unless you hear from NSA, you may assume that you have a place.  Tickets will not be issued.

The Sports Club is located on the south side of Ferry Road between East Fettes Avenue and Arboretum Road, not far from the Royal Botanical Gardens. Car parking is available inside the entrance gates, on the left.  The Club can be reached by bus, route 27, from The Mound. 

To enter the Norwegian-Scottish association dinner, please fill in and return the entrance form no later than the 7th of May, and include a cheque made payable to the Norwegian-Scottish Association.
