Rosmersholm at the Almeida Theatre in London

 Type:Culture
 Location:England

Rosmersholm by Henrik Ibsen will be showing at the Almeida Theatre from 15 May – 5 July. The passionate love story has been adapted in a new version by Mike Poulton.

When the seductive Rebecca West arrives at Rosmersholm, Johannes Rosmer's beliefs are thrown into turmoil. The two psychologically fascinating characters set in a society divided between conservatism and a new democracy, provides a portrait of idealism foundering in the modern world of journalistic spin and opportunism. It is a story full of frightening twists. The play is believed by many to be Ibsen's dramatic masterpiece.

Award winning Helen McCrory plays Rebecca West, while Paul Hilton plays Rosmer in this new version by Poulton, whose previous works includes Ibsen’s Ghosts and Hedda Gabler.
