In Transit

Have you ever been in an airport and looked at the people around you? A group of people are waiting for a flight at Keflavik Airport. Some talk, some think and some dream. This theatre production runs from 3 to 13 March at Chelsea Theatre.

IN TRANSIT is an exceptional piece of storytelling theatre with live music and an international cast. The actors come from Iceland, Norway, Denmark and the UK: Maiken Bernth, Erlendur Eiriksson, Solveig Gudmundsdottir, Birna Hafstein, Margret Kaaber, Bjørn Ødegaard and Sean McGlynn.

Seven actors each play a younger and older character waiting in Transit at Keflavik Airport. The cast devised the script alongside the director, building on the reminiscences and direct speech of people of all ages, from city dwellers to inhabitants of isolated communities.

IN TRANSIT is directed by upcoming director Gregory Thompson, who has directed at the Young Vic and Royal Shakespeare Company. As Artistic Director of AandBC he has directed THE TEMPEST (British Council International Tour to Trinidad and Hong Kong, Somerset House and UK Tour) THE TALE THAT WAGS THE DOG (USA and UK tour) and THE WINTERS TALE (Theatre Royal Bath.)
