Norwegian musicians Susanna & the Magical Orchestra and Arve Henriksen Trio will perform at a concert hosted by BBC Radio 3's Fiona Talkington on 29 November.

Susanna & the Magical Orchestra consist of singer Susanna Wallumrød and Morten Qvenild on Fender Rhodes and electronics. Susanna Wallumrød and Morton Qvenild’s debut album was one of the most celebrated of 2004. From the hard to please jazz critics to the vanguards of fashion, Susanna won a host of fans who fell in love with her evocative, heart rending voice set against an atmospheric electronic backdrop. Captivating performers, the duo perform versions of classics by Bernstein and Dolly Parton among others alongside their own compositions.

Arve Henriksen Trio includes Arve Henriksen on trumpet, Audun Kleive on drums and percussion, and Jan Bang with live sampling and samples. Arve Henriksen first made his mark in Britain when he featured in Iain Ballamy’s Food. His haunting sound and limitless improvisatory ideas captured the ears of discerning listeners and his follow up visits – including last year’s tour with Dhafer Youssef – have marked him as one of the most important players on the jazz scene. The evening’s performance marks the debut UK performance for Arve's trio.

BBC Radio 3 Late Junction presenter Fiona Talkington is a lifelong fan and tireless champion of Norwegian music. She presents two of her favourite artists live in a unique double bill.
