The Brazz Brothers play starring role at international music festival...

One of Norway's top musical exports The Brazz Brothers will be playing a leading role at BRASS - Durham International Festival, when they bring their unique brand of music to the UK in early July.

The Brazz Brothers are recognised as one of Europe's premier ensembles who excel in wooing audiences with refreshing brass-based music. They have collaborated with some of the music industries key performers including Northumbrian piper Kathryn Tickell.
 
BRASS - Durham International Festival (1-15 July) is a Durham Brass Initiative event that promises to deliver the ultimate 'global' music experience, as the frenetic fortnight of fun intends to take people on a cultural journey by sampling music from various countries around the world. The festival intends to showcase a wide variety of musical genres that incorporate elements of brass-based music for example: gypsy brass; folk; jazz; samba; klezmer and classical.
 
This year's programme will also include a Festival Fringe that will incorporate local and international acts - giving new venues in County Durham the opportunity to host one off music events... well and truly bringing Brass to the people.
 
The Brazz Brothers are in good company on the bill for BRASS - Durham International Festival; the other star-studded names include: The Boban i Marko Markovic Orkestar (from Serbia); Bellowhead - (UK - BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2007 winners of Best Group, Best Album and Best Live Act); Jack Brass Band (from USA); Oren Marshall - (from UK - described as the "Jimi Hendrix" of the tuba); Kiku Collins (USA - Beyonce Knowles's leading horn player); Jaipur Kawa Brass Band (from India who will be marching in this year's Durham Miners' Gala); YBS Brass Band conducted by Ray Farr (from UK - one of the world's leading Brass bands); Dennis Rollins & Badbone (UK) and Mnozil Brass (from Austria).
