Elvira Nikolaisen, Real Ones and Jim Stärk, some of the hottest new musical talents from Norway, are coming to London to showcase their music at a one-off concert in Soho.

The concert 'bpop presents Norway: Jim Stärk, Real Ones, Elvira Nikolaisen' takes place at Soho's Madam Jo Jo's on Wednesday 13 September. Back home in Norway, these three artists are hugely successful, topping the charts and receiving outstanding reviews from crowds and critics. Over in the UK they are unsigned and largely unheard. The night will be fresh and unexpected, bringing together the unhurried, aching melodies of singer/songwriter Elvira Nikolaisen, the up-tempo folk/rock of Jim Stärk and the uncompromised uniqueness of the Real Ones, a band so bizarrely upbeat that the crowd can't help but smile and dance.

Jim Stärk is a three piece folk/rock band with a country touch. Their music can be compared to singer/songwriters like Nick Drake, Jackson Browne and Jack Johnson, with a bit of Americana thrown in. The self titled album "Jim Stärk" is now platinum in Norway with the single "Morning Song" peaking at #1. Their new single “It’s Alright” is their first offering since returning from recording in Brazil. They are now being released in the rest of Scandinavia through their own label Sweet Recordings and are releasing the “Morning Song” EP in UK in September.

Real Ones is a folk-pop band from Bergen with an original sound. Comprised of five old friends, they inhabit the stage and each other’s company with equal ease. Strangely, their interweaving voices and the slightly haunting strings seem to create just a touch of the orient. Sharing home-city facilities with Röyksopp, Kings Of Convenience, Annie and Sondre Lerche they come from a context of original and beautiful Norwegian music. If you had to spoil it all and place them, then you just might fit them in somewhere between Dungen and The Band. Their album is a kind of Norwegian Sgt Pepper for the 21st century. Real Ones’ sound is truly unique, and combines an amazing live act with a great talent for writing beautiful melodies. “Bratislava” EP on limited UK release in September.

Elvira Nikolaisen is a Norwegian singer/songwriter who is as beautiful to the eye as she is to the ear. Elvira writes all her own songs, plays the piano and will be accompanied by her band. Her debut album is doing amazingly well and she has become one of Norway’s biggest female stars. She continues to receive many great reviews. Her three singles had massive airplay, making Top 3 in the national airplay and sales charts in Norway. Her first tour sold out completely, and during the summer has Elvira played with her band at all major festivals in Norway.
