Two nights of Norwegian metal

Metal bands Arcturus and Red Harvest are to make a brief visit to the UK to play two gigs in October.

Arcturus will headline the concerts in London and Nottingham with Red Harvest as support along with the French band Kill the Thrill. The tour, named 'Shipwrecked in Europe', follows the release of Arcturus's latest album 'Sideshow Symphonies'.

From their prodigous origins as classically engendered synthesized metal to vaudeville/cabaret tinged progressive rock deforming into occasional jazz, alternative electronics, sampledelica, Arcutus runs the Institute of Common Oblivion.

Red Harvest are true veterans of Norwegian metal music, along with such bands as Mayhem, Cadaver and Darkthrone. This persistent five piece has often been touring both domestically and abroad, but is still something of a rather well kept secret among connoisseurs of dark, driving rock music. When asked to describe themselves, the members will come up with labels like apocalyptic industrial paranoia metal.

5 October: Underworld, London
6 October: Rock City, Nottingham
