Nobel festivities in Oslo

Kylie Minogue tops the line-up at the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo on 11 December. Star hosts Uma Thurman and Kevin Spacey, accompanied by world renowned artists, will honour the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Al Gore and IPCC.

Kylie will be joined by world renowned acts including Alicia Keys, Melissa Etheridge, Annie Lennox, Juanes, KT Tunstall, Earth Wind & Fire, Junoon, Morten Harket and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

This year’s concert will put on a spectacular show to honour laureates Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on  Climate Change (IPCC) for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man‐made climate change.

The annual concert, presented by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, is broadcast to more than 100 countries  worldwide. The award is presented every year to an individual whose humanitarian efforts exemplify a spirit of  generosity and leadership that helps to spread the positive message manifested by the Nobel Peace Prize throughout the world.

The Nobel Peace Prize is the most prestigious award in the world, honouring icons such as Mother Teresa, Nelson  Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, and other remarkable  individuals and organisations. For the past decade, the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony has been followed the next  day by the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
