Norwegian best selling author to cast spell on the UK

International bestselling Norwegian fantasy author Margit Sandemo's 'Spellbound' will be published in the UK in June. Some 39 million copies of her novels have so far been sold in nine countries across Scandinavia and Eastern Europe – but until now her novels have never been available in English.

Margit Sandemo, who was born April 23, 1924, in Valdres, Norway, is a historical fantasy author. She has been the best-selling author in the Nordic Countries since the 1980s, when her most famous novel series of 47 books, 'The Legend of the Ice People', was published.

'Spellbound' is the opening novel of the multi-volume saga, which alone has sold 25 million copies in Norway and internationally. Five further novels in the series, 'Witch-hunt', 'Depths of Darkness', 'Yearning', 'Mortal Sin' and 'Evil Inheritance' will be published monthly in the period leading up to Christmas, with more to follow next year.

On 12 June 2008 The Tagman Press launches the first English translation of 'Spellbound'.

Meet Margit Sandemo at Harrods, Saturday 14 June
