Design duo rubecksen yamanaka, which consist of Norwegian womenswear designer Hilde Rubecksen and Japanese knitwear designer Tomoko Yamanaka, are presenting their new collection for spring/summer 2008 during London Fashion Week.
The collection is inspired by Victorian bisque dolls and artists Louise Bourgeois and Hans Bellmer. It features silk and cotton dresses and waterproof trench coats and jackets with displaced gussets. Sheer knitwear has stockings inserted into seams and is partly double layered. The details on the clothes are quirky and offbeat, creating a collection of beautifully peculiar pieces.
Yarns include cotton and cashmere mixes, soft cotton and paper yarn and fabrics used are waterproof linen, silk crepe, cotton voile, cotton jersey and cotton tulle in colours ranging from cream, beige and brown to tonal greys and black.
This season rubecksen yamanaka are showing during London Fashion Week in the beautiful Livingstone Studio in Hampstead, Sunday 16 September, soirée` 7.30- 9.30 pm (by invitation only).
