For this summer season, Livingstone Studio is showing the work of two distinctive and innovative London based labels Jessica Ogden and rubecksen yamanaka.

Established in 2002 rubecksen yamanaka is a partnership between Norwegian womenswear designer, Hilde Rubecksen and Japanese knit designer, Tomoko Yamanaka. Their achievements as Fashion Fringe finalists in 2004, followed by three successful London Fashion Week shows at the Royal Academy, have ensured their place at the forefront of young British designers. Their collection for spring/summer 2006, in fabrics and yarns of the highest quality, is feminine and quirky.

Jessica Ogden’s collection is described as truly original; she combines vintage textiles and hand-crafted detail into her very individual clothing. Her fascination with old and distressed fabrics has been a continuing theme in all her collections since the launch of her own label in 1993. Texture is important and she uses layering, hand-printing and stitching techniques to create uncompromisingly modern forms.

Both the above collections are unusual but elegant, individual but wearable and will appeal to women of all ages. They complement Livingstone Studio’s continuing collections from Raag, Jurgen Lehl and Shirin Guild.
