‘Knitted wilderness’ at London Fashion Week

Design duo rubecksen yamanaka, which consists of Norwegian womenswear designer Hilde Rubecksen and Japanese knitwear designer Tomoko Yamanaka, are presenting their new collection for autumn/winter 2008 during London Fashion Week.

11/02/2008 :: The collection, ‘knitted wilderness two’, is inspired by Victorian nature and landscape photography and David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson’s portrayal of the Newhaven fishing community. It features knitted wool coats and Fair Isle jumpers. Victorian accessory details are featured on coats, shirts and dresses. The details on the clothes are quirky and offbeat, creating a collection of beautifully peculiar pieces.

Yarns include cashmere, silk, yak and Shetland wool and fabrics used are boiled soft wool and angora, fine jersey and silk crepe in colours ranging from cream, beige and brown to tonal greys and black.

This season rubecksen yamanaka are showing during London Fashion Week in the beautiful Livingstone Studio in Hampstead.
