Close to 50 student artists will display their work at the third annual NorskArt showcase which runs over the first weekend in May at the La Viande Gallery in London’s trendy East End.
Last year’s exhibition comprised the work of 30 Norwegian students from universities all over the UK, and the dramatic increase of entries to this year’s exhibit is a sure sign that NorskArt 2007 will be an even more eclectic display of Norwegian talent.
NorskArt is an annual exhibit in London showcasing some of Norway’s student talents in the arts. Since it is difficult to make your mark in a competitive metropolis like London, NorskArt aims to provide interested Norwegian students studying in the UK with the venue and the opportunity to get their time in the spotlight.
The NorskArt organising committee is especially pleased with the number of talents and the great diversity of contributions to the 2007 exhibit. A plethora of artistic media—photo, sculpture, documentary filmmaking, animation, painting, web design, clothing design, illustration and jewellery—will all be represented at La Viande Gallery in May.
The event is a student production and everyone involved is a member of ANSA, the Association of Norwegian Students Abroad. The exhibit is a not-for-profit event where the goal is to provide everyone with a great experience on the Norwegian art scene.
