Up-and-coming photographer with first solo exhibition

 Date:21/09/2006 - 29/10/2006
 Type:Culture, Contemporary Art
 Location:England, London

London-based Norwegian photographer Benjamin Alexander Huseby will at his first solo exhibition in the UK show installations of work from two recent series at the Dicksmith Gallery in Hoxton, London.

The two series on display are ‘Natur & Ungdom’, an investigation into the relationship between romantic mysticism and rave euphoria and '01.05.05-05.08.06', photographs taken over the last year or so that describe a more personal relationship with young urban culture.

Huseby’s collages play on a range of references from early modernism or the conceptual art of the 1960s and 1970s to contemporary club culture, combining the artist's own photographs with those borrowed from magazines or scientific reference books.

Huseby's recent exhibitions have included ‘Nature & Ungdom’ at Fotogalleriet, Oslo and ‘At war with the Obvious’ at KunstWerke, KW, Berlin. Huseby’s photographs have been exhibited internationally in a number of magazines including British Vogue and Another Magazine.
