Norwegian galleries Galleri Format and Kunst1 will both be represented at this year’s Collect, the international art fair for contemporary objects, which is presented by the Crafts Council at London’s Saatchi Gallery.
Bringing together selected galleries from around the globe, Collect showcases the very best in decorative and applied arts. Norwegian gallery Kunst1 participates with the seven leading artists Beth Wyllers, Jens Erland, Kirsti Reinsborg Grov, Leif Stangebye Nilsen, Liv Blåvarp, Caroline Slotte and Millie Behrens. Of this selection, Kunst1’s Henning Mortensen says: “I have selected these artists essentially because they are among the leading artists in their fields in Norway. Their works are interesting, refreshing and stimulating, and marked by craftsmanship and attention to detail built from years of experience. And because I love their work!”
The second Norwegian gallery at the fair is Galleri Format, which is owned by the Norwegian Association of Arts and Crafts. Galleri Format will present some of Norway’s finest professional with artistic qualities within ceramic, textile and metal. Their artists, whose work will be showcased in London, include Marie Ambjørnsen, Anne Leger, Anne Lene Løvhaug, Kari Aasen, Marit Tingleff, May Bente Aronsen and Ruta Pakarklyte.
Finally, Norwegian jewellery designer Sigurd Bronger will once again be represented by renowned Dutch gallery Galerie RA. Bronger's 'Egg Ring' will be on display at Galerie RA's stand.
