Norwegian candy wins European award

The Norwegian candy manufacturer Nidar AS has been awarded the European Candy Kettle Award.

27/09/2005 :: The prestigious prize has been awarded since 1973 and this is the first time that a Norwegian company has reached the top in the competition. In addition to candy, Nidar produces chocolate, sugar products, confectionary and marzipan. The selection criteria for the award are outstanding achievements in product quality, development in production, research and technology, performance in sales and marketing and international co-operation.

The European Candy Kettle Club is an organisation of suppliers to the European candy industry. Past winners of the award includes recognised international companies such as Fazer, Cadbury and Nestle.

Nidar is the largest candy supplier to the Norwegian market and employs 600 people. In January 2005 Nidar had a share of the Norwegian candymarket of 31,4 percent. The company was founded in Trondheim in 1912.
