The Norwegian Seamen’s Mission was established to secure the moral and religious education of Scandinavian seafarers, but also to give them a "breathing room" where a fellow countryman was available to lend an ear and give some attention

Norwegian students in the UK, currently around 4,200, have their own organisation, ANSA-UK. Most of these students take economics, engineering and art (e.g. design, film, theatre, dance), but quite a few read journalism, law, medicine or physiotherapy.
