Dance and choir merger at The Place

h2dance's Choir Project: Attention! will be presented at The Place

The Scandinavian performance group h2dance presents its unique work Choir Project: Attention! at the Place Theatre for the venue's 40th anniversary celebration.

Attention! will be performed by Pegasus Choir and Flaxman Choir with original music by composer Sylvia Hallett. The work is forming a part of h2dance’s upcoming project Choir Project that sees the company working with a range of choirs in the UK and Scandinavia. The piece is referring to the history of the Place building, which previously was the Head Quarters of the volunteer military regiment, the Artist Rifles. Attention! is part of the Something Happening sessions at the Place theatre in connection with its 40th anniversary.

h2dance was formed in 1999 and presents the joint choreography and direction of Artistic Directors Heidi Rustgaard from Norway and Hanna Gillgren from Sweden. Their work addresses political and gender issues with humour and irony to create dynamic and thought-provoking performance work. h2dance borrows its aesthetic from popular culture and combines movement with text, song and video, which directly communicates with an audience.
