Hedda makes an appearance in Leicester

Henrik Ibsen’s iconic Hedda Gabler, which this month is staged not only in Leicester, but also in London and Bath, tells the story about a tormented women town between two lives.

The production at the Little Theatre in Leicester is directed by Marion Marley who said recently: “I’m a big fan of Ibsen. Each year the directors and members at the Little Theatre put in their suggestions for the following year. I’d been suggesting Hedda Gabler for years and years, but it had never been accepted until now, so I’m extremely busy but very excited.”

The play tells the story about Hedda Gabler, a young woman with an unorthodox upbringing who now faces a tough emotional dilemma. She is torn between a predictable life with her husband and a tempting taste of excitement with her Bohemian playwright lover.
