Northern star with UK gig

Norwegian singer/songwriter Solvor VermeerNorwegian singer/songwriter Solvor Vermeer

Young singer / songwriter Solvor Vermeer heads from Northern Norway to South London for a gig in connection with the release of her EP 'The Beaming Light'.

Based around the core elements of Solvor’s piano and her characteristically gossamer vocals, the four tracks that make up the EP conjure up a kaleidoscopic mix of instrumentation; ghostly cello, insistent Glockenspiels and banks of harmonies. The aim was to create the music of “Bloksberg”, an imaginary place in the forest where the witches live, and the result is indeed bewitching.

Solvor Vermeer was born in Finnsnes, north in Norway. At a young age she told her mother that “there was all this music in my head that needed to get out” and for the last seven years she has lived in Oslo, honing her songwriting talents whilst touring and recording alongside the likes of Bob Haley and Bellman.

The Beaming Light EP will be released in the UK in April.
