Hardanger fiddler Nils Økland and pianist and accordionist Mike Adcock come together in a programme of traditional tunes, original pieces and spacious and understated improvisation
Nils Økland is one of Norway's leading Hardanger fiddle-players. Having gained an international reputation over the last few years, he comes to England in February for an appearance at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra, followed by three other concerts with Mike Adcock in a less formal programme of music.
For pianist/accordion player Mike Adcock this is the latest of a number of collaborations with Norwegian musicians,here joining Nils Økland in a programme of traditional tunes, original pieces and an approach to improvisation marked by understatement and spaciousness.
