One of Norway’s most popular singer songwriters, Thomas Dybdahl, finally releases his self-titled debut album in the UK.
The album, which is out on 14 September, includes the hits 'From Grace', 'A Love Story', 'Cecilia' and 'Adelaide' which made Dybdahl a star in Scandinavia.
Dybdahl released his first solo album in Norway ‘That Great October Sound’ back in 2002. The album received considerable air-time on Norwegian radio and was also praised by critics, resulting in Dybdahl landing a Norwegian Grammy Award for best pop solo act. Norway’s leading newspapers described his debut album as ‘astoundingly powerful’ and ‘a timeless modern classic’.
The following years proved to be very productive for Dybdahl and also cemented his position as one of Norway’s premier singer/songwriters. He released his second solo album, ‘Stray Dogs’, in 2003, quickly followed by ’One Day You'll Dance For Me, New York City’, which came out the following year. 2006 turned out to be a successful year for Dybdahl, seeing him release his fourth album and pick up his second Norwegian Grammy Award, this time being recognised as the best male artist. Dybdahl will assemble a collection of his best songs and release a ‘best of’ album this coming autumn
His live performances are always soulful and the Norwegian press has lauded his concerts on numerous occasions. To coincide with the release of his record, Dybdahl will do a number of gigs at record stores:
