Casiokids return to the UK
Norwegian band Casiokids will return with three concerts in London in June, following their show at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton in May.
Casiokids, who consist of Ketil Kinden Endresen, Gomar N'Dur, Fredrik Øgreid Vogsborg, Matias Monsen, Einar Olsson and Kjetil Bjøreid Aabø, is a mix of old analogue and trashy keyboards, pop melodies and a theatre troupe. Apart from doing an extensive tour of Norwegian kinder gardens, Casiokids has also played for indiekids in Paris and all over Norway since 2005. The band started with a desire to make electronic music more visual, and has further developed a collection of animation and theatre blended with pop melodies, often sung in their native language.
After the release of debut album ‘Fück MIDI!’ in 2006 the diverse band is now working on a project that includes creating an animated rain forest together with the ‘Digitalteateret’ (digital theatre) led by Aslak Helgesen. The music draws similarities and takes inspiration from Paul Simon's ‘Graceland’, Ivor Cutler, King Tubby, Bob hund and Cornelius.
The band has played at several renowned festivals and venues in Norway and France, including Sous La Plage Festival (Paris 2007), Øya (Oslo 2006) and By:larm (Stavanger 2005 & Oslo 2008) to name a few.
