Norwegian design inspired by Victorian photographer

Design duo rubecksen yamanaka show their Victorian photographer inspired Spring/Summer 2009 collection during London Fashion Week on 16 September.

rubecksen yamanaka consists of Norwegian womenswear designer Hilde Rubecksen and Japanese knitwear designer Tomoko Yamanaka. They will be presenting the new collection for spring/summer 2009 during London Fashion Week in an installation collaboration with stylist Felix Elisabetta Forma.

The collection is inspired by Victorian photographer William Constable and the Victorian vintage purse. The collection features Swiss dot cotton blouse and dresses with purse details and black and white gingham check coats and jackets. The details on the clothes are quirky and offbeat, creating a collection of peculiar pieces.

Yarns include milk fibre mixes, soft cotton and fabrics used are cotton swiss dot and polyester gingham check, silk satin, as well as black tulle. The colours are ranging from cream, beige to tonal greys and black.
