Some of the brightest stars of new Norwegian furniture design exhibit their work at an exhibition in Brick Lane during the London Design Festival.
This year’s London Design Festival will see an exhibition of collected work, prototypes and experiments from selected Norwegian furtniture designers. These particular works challenge conventional and traditional Norwegian furniture design which has typically been characterised by its clean lines, functionality and mass production. The exhibition aims at showing the diversity and variations of the different stages of the artists' works and prototypes. Some objects will be finished, fully functional pieces, whilst some of the work will only be in its initial stage.
A prototype is often used as part of the design process to allow designers to explore design alternatives, test ideas and visualise a full scale model. The pieces at Norwegian Prototypes will also be accompanied by drawings, sketches and photos of the development process, which makes this a unique opportunity to observe the different approcaches to developing ideas and designing.
This designers featured at the exhibition are Axel Hellum, Amy Hunting, Daniel Rybakken, Hallgeir Homstvedt, Helen Johannessen, Kim Thome, Oscar Magnus Narud og StokkeAustad.
