London-based Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø will open his solo exhibition ‘Saturated’ in conjunction with launch of new art gallery, Spring Projects. The exhibition will run from 8 February to 20 March 2008.
Sølve Sundsbø is regarded as one of the primary innovators in contemporary image making, and has an impressive portfolio. Sundsbø has gained commercial clients including Yves Saint Laurent, Levi’s, Nike, Estee Lauder, Gucci Jewellery, Armani, Bally and Lancôme, and has created editorial imagery for leading magazines such as Pop, I-D, Dazed and Confused, Numero and Visionaire. Sundsbø has also created album covers for Röyksopp and Coldplay, as well as directed short films for Nike, Gucci and Show studio. Sølve was awarded the best newcomer prize at the international festival of Fashion in Hyeres in 1999.
‘Saturated’ consists of 12 portrait images, portraying their subjects as if locked into their own closed private spaces, creating an other-worldliness through highly charged visions and hyper-realities.
‘Saturated’ will be on show at the Spring Studios, a photography studio complex. The exhibition will be the first in a cross-cultural programme at Spring Projects, a brand new commercial gallery space at the studio.
