Norwegian galleries Galleri Format and Kunst1 will both be represented at this year’s Collect, an art fair for contemporary objects that is presented by the Crafts Council at London’s Saatchi Gallery.

Bringing together selected galleries from around the globe, Collect showcases the very best in decorative and applied arts. Norwegian gallery Kunst1 participates with the 10 talented artists, five ceramists and five jewellers. The artists include Torbjørn Kvasbø, Tovelise Røkke-Olsen, Tor Alex Erichsen, Caroline Slotte, Sidsel Hanum, Liv Blåvarp, Millie Behrens, Leif Stangebye Nielsen, Ingjerd Hanevold and Nanna Melland. Of this selection, Kunst1’s Henning Mortensen says: “I am very enthusiastic about participation in this year’s Collect at the Saatchi Gallery and can promise that the visitors and guests will see crafts of exceptional beauty and character from the best artists in Norway.”

The second Norwegian gallery at the fair is Galleri Format, which is owned by the Norwegian Association of Arts and Crafts, a national organisation supported by the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. Galleri Format will present some of Norway’s finest professionals with artistic qualities within ceramic, textile and metal. The artists, whose work will be showcased in London, include Hedda Bjerkeli, Heidi Bjørgan, Elise Hatlø, Helene Josefsen Linkosuonio, Monica Marcella, Inger Johanne Rasmussen and Anna Talbot. Both galleries Format and Kunst1 participated at Collect last year.

Finally, Norwegian jewellery designer Sigurd Bronger will once again be represented by renowned Dutch gallery Galerie RA. Bronger's ‘Ball' necklace will be on display at Galerie RA's stand.

Launched in 2004, Collect is one of the Crafts Councils flagship events and over the last five years has built up an outstanding reputation as the premier fair in Europe for contemporary craft. This will be the second year that Collect is held at Saatchi Gallery in London, which is one of the largest contemporary art galleries in the world.
