Norwegian Christmas trees in the UK

Last updated: 31/10/2011 // Every year since 1947 we celebrate the gift of Christmas Trees from various counties in Norway to cities around the UK in memory of the close association arising during 2nd World War. For many, the Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and carol singing signal the countdown to Christmas.

The Norwegian Christmas Tree has come to symbolise the warm and close relationship between the people of Norway and the people of Britain. We enjoy close historical and economic links.  The cultural affinity between the two nations has developed over the centuries and continues to grow.
