Støre in London for the Afghanistan conference
Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre attended the international Afghanistan conference in London on 28 January.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown and UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon hosted an international conference in London on the situation in Afghanistan. The conference was attended by the Foreign Ministers of nearly 70 countries, including Norway’s Jonas Gahr Støre.
Commenting on developments in Afghanistan, Støre said he was optimistic about the prospects for reconciliation and reintegration in the country. He considered the conference a step in the right direction.
During his London visit Støre also met with his British colleague David Miliband.
Jonas Gahr Støre will return to London on the 18th February in order to attend a Wilton Park conference about how global warming is affecting the High North. For more info, click here.
