New flights from Aberdeen and Newcastle to Bergen

The UK regional airline Eastern Airways is to launch its first ever services from Aberdeen and Newcastle to Bergen Airport Flesland with new direct flights on 5 October.

From Aberdeen, the new service will operate Monday to Friday with flights leaving Aberdeen at 8.40am local time, landing in Bergen at 11.10am. Flights leave Bergen at 4.15pm, arriving in Aberdeen at 4.45pm local time.

Eastern Airways will also operate non-stop daily weekday services to Newcastle departing from Bergen at 2.30pm, arriving in Newcastle at 3.35pm local time.  Flights leave Newcastle at 10.30am local time, landing in Bergen at 1.35pm.

Following the withdrawal of the ferry service last year, the new flights will restore long standing links between Bergen and its twin city Newcastle.

“Bergen is a key base for the global energy industry and these two new services are in direct response to demand from the business community. Passengers will also benefit from easy connections to other onward UK destinations on the Eastern Airways network from Aberdeen and Newcastle. We are pleased to provide Aberdeen and Newcastle a better network to Bergen, western Norway and the fjords,” said Alf Sognefest, terminal manager at Bergen Airport.

Eastern Airways already provides frequent services from Stavanger to Aberdeen and Newcastle, and earlier this year introduced flights from Oslo to Aberdeen.
