New Norwegian Honorary Consul in Douglas, Isle of Man

Mr Lars Torgeir Ugland has been appointed as the new Honorary Consul for Norway in Douglas, Isle of Man. He succeeds Consul Robin Bigland, who has retired.
Mr Ugland, who is a Norwegian citizen, first moved from Norway to England in 1972 to join the family shipping company in London. However, he has strong ties to Norway and is well updated on current Norwegian affairs.
In 2007, he moved to Douglas, where he is chief executive officer at LT Ugland Shipping.
As a member of the executive committee of the Isle of Man Shipping Association, Mr Ugland is active in the shipping community and is in close contact with the local government.
