The Scottish Norwegian Business Forum (SNOBUF) was set up in 1988 to assist members in developing Scottish-Norwegian business. SNOBUF activities are aimed at encouraging inter-trade among members and the exchange of information on markets and market trends and conditions. It is also the Forum's aim to advice members of relevant business opportunities, and act as a focal point for information and assistance to enter the market in either country.
Activities
SNOBUF members meet quarterly for talks and debates given by experts on the given subject. The members give company presentations. Seminars and social events are also an important part of the Forum's activities.
Snobiz News is a bi-annual magazine with company and personal profiles, updates on business developments and advertising space reserved for members.
Membership
Companies of all sizes and from a broad range of business sectors are members of SNOBUF alongside organisations and individuals. The majority of the members have their base in Scotland, but a number are also based in Norway, England and Wales.
Business sectors represented at present are:
Manufacturers, agents/distributors and service providers On-shore and off-shore activities Engineering, construction, building and architecture Agriculture and food Shipping Plastic and timber Advertising and marketing Design Financial and legal services
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Scottish-Norwegian business relations. SNOBUF has a rising membership of over 90 organisations and individuals.
