The King of Norway visits Lloyd's of London

On Wednesday 26 October, HM King Harald was taken on a tour of the trading floor before joining a reception which followed a seminar entitled ‘City Partners Norway: Energy, Shipping, Industry, Finance in a European and Global Perspective’.

Lloyd's is the world's leading specialist insurance market and the home to 44 managing agents and 62 syndicates. The event was hosted at the Lloyd's building due to the institution's strong business relationships with Norway.

HM King Harald was received by the Lord Levene of Portsoken, chairman with Lloyd's of London, who also conducted His Majesty on a tour of the Lloyds’ Trading Floor, including an explanation of the market. Thereafter, The King was received by Alderman Michael Savory, The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor and Arne Skauge, managing director Norwegian Financial Services Association who briefed His Majesty on the results of the seminar on shipping and finance.
