A lecture to die for

A Norwegian expert on places of worship will give a lecture on funerary culture in Norway at London's St Olave's church on 14 July.

The lecture with Oddbjørn Sørmoen is hosted by the Mausolea and Monuments Trust in the City Church dedicated to Norway’s patron saint. Sørmoen is a senior adviser at the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, currently on secondment in the UK as special adviser for places of worship at English Heritage. He has edited the series ‘Kirker i Norge’ (Churches in Norway) and published widely on Norwegian churches and the conservation of churchyards and funerary monuments. He is Magister Artium in Art History at the University of Oslo and studied architectural conservation at The Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
